All the best to all you old Kadets!
After graduating from Southern Illinois U. I served in the Air Force for 12 years, mostly as a pilot with tours in Arizona, Southeast Asia, & Germany. Worked briefly as a corporate pilot in the DC area before joining the government as an intelligence analyst. Retired from the U.S. Dept. of Energy in 2004 and became a "beltway bandit" -- a contractor, still working at DOE. Janet & I adopted two girls from Russia in 1993 & 1994, so we're still parenting long after most of you have empty-nested.

School Story:

Loved being on the swim team, active in drama, got by in most of my courses except for hard times in Algebra. We had a great class & as a military brat I was lucky to go to high school all four years at AAHS, out there in "God's Country."

My beloved older brother Phil died at the age of 69 from mesothelioma (asbestos poisoning) in December of 2013.  Phil enlisted in the US Navy after graduation from Academy High, and then attended the US Merchant Marine Academy.  He worked for many US flag carriers as a ship's officer, retiring shortly before his untimely death.  He saw most of the world, something for which I truly envied him.  "Home is the sailor, home from the sea . . ."

I remember my classmate Terry Hostetter very well.  A great football player -- he made Varsity 1st String right off the bat as a sophomore, & was All-Conference for two or three years, and All-State at least one year, as I recall.  Offensive guard, defensive middle guard, an aggressive hustler on the field and the nicest guy in the world off the field.  Whatever the circumstances of his death, he was way too young.

Duane was my next-door neighbor in Douglas Valley for three years, & we were both backstrokers on the swim team.  Sad to hear of his passing, far too young.

"Oklahoma," in the spring of 1962 as I recall. I'm on the right. Anyone recall who else is onstage?

On a visit to Tucson five years ago I reconnected with Sara Cortez Kuropatkin, who hasn't changed all that much.
